”The mist is still on the ground at first light. The breeze is hushed, at first light. The sun shyly peeks through the wilderness, as if reluctant to rise from bed, at first light. At first light a soft ululation drifts like smoke, a soft howl, a call, an invitation, giving rise to a choir of voices fading across the lake. The wolves have returned, cautious but hopeful this day brings another closer to rebuilding their pack.”
